We’ve all been there. Daydreaming about that special someone, staring at our phone to see when we will receive their text, or looking forward to getting a simple like on a Facebook post, a “Hi” from them or a “Goodbye” when they leave your office. Or maybe, you’ve found someone you like, have been in a relationship, and have begun imagining a future together. Even so, you may sometimes still wonder if you are really in love. Worry no more because we get it covered.
Signs You're in Love
You want to be together all the time
You’re completely okay with the two of you hanging out at home, chilling and going through movie marathons or simply sitting next to each other and just enjoying each other's company. Unlike having a crush or liking someone which is all about passion and excitement, falling in love with someone surpasses all those superficial things and in this case, what really matters is just spending time with each other, even if it means sitting together in silence for hours.
You become super observant
When you have a crush, you notice tiny details like his favorite baseball team or that one time she mentioned she likes Julia Roberts. But when you’re in love, you become more observant and get deeply involved in that person's life. For example, you might be the only person in the office to know that he has a strained relationship with his sister, even though he has never said it out loud. That’s because, unlike others, you made efforts to look beyond the forced smiles and the awkward discussions about family matters.
You want to be exclusive
This is one of the most obvious signs you're in love. The very fact that you want to move beyond the casual and not committed relationship shows that emotionally, you’re ready to take the next step. And why would you do so if your heart isn’t sure that this person is the one you want to spend your life with?
It’s not about sex anymore
When you’re deep in love, physical aspects of the relationship like sex and looks stop mattering to you. That’s because you’ve matured enough to understand that there are things like loyalty and honesty matter more to you than those superficial needs. You have a very strong emotional attachment with your partner and you realize that even if being with him or her meant never having sex anymore (gasp!), you two would still gladly live your life happily together.
Everything about that person is lovely
When you are in love, you tend to focus on your love's positive qualities, adore those emotional and personality quirks, and humor his or her small flaws.
Your ego becomes secondary
When you are just having a crush or like someone, usually no matter how intensely your emotion is, your ego will always come first. But one of the signs you're in love is that you know your partner is more important to you than your ego. And that is exactly why you don’t mind losing a fight or two to him or her, because seeing him or her smile means more to you than actually winning the fight.
Jealousy, possessiveness, insecurities…. are things of the past
When you were young and immature, you thought being jealous, possessive or outright was your way to show your love. Not now. You understand that such negative emotions are nothing but a manifestation of your own issues and instead of projecting them onto the one you love, you have worked hard to resolve your own problems and prepared to give all the best things to that special someone.
That person can cheer you up even in the darkest time
Whenever you’re down in the dumps and you want to be cheered up, it’s always his or her face that comes to mind. Even when you’re having an average day and that person sends you a simple text like, “Hey, what’s up?” it makes you feel warm on the inside and laugh out like an idiot.
Adversity brings you closer
Among all signs you're in love, this one matters greatly. As we all know, tough times in a relationship easily pave way to two things – a breakup or the strengthening of the existing bond between two people. The breakup almost always indicates the lack of compatibility and love between two parties. However, if tough times only make you come closer, you can be assured that you’re really in love and you are deeply loved.
The honeymoon phase is over, but….
You are not only comfortable with each other, but you always want to be around that person. Because you finally understand that there is so much more to a relationship than posting cute selfies and having the most glamorous time of your life. You now understand that sometimes the best memories are created in your pajamas while you are watching a Harry Potter movie marathon together and eating yesterday’s leftovers.
